Agility Committee Report July-August 2008

As I type this report, I think we are almost ready to vote on and send our judges program to the BoD for their approval.  It has been a lengthy and difficult process which may need to be re-examined and tweaked in the future, but we have to start somewhere.

The committee is also working on ensuring that all judges make the same calls so the ASCA agility program is consistent from trial to trial.  It is important for affiliates to be honest in their trial reports as the business office is forwarding any incidents to the committee for further discussion.  Exhibitors can express their concerns to the trial committee at the trial or send a note to the committee. We hope that everyone will be civil and considerate in their comments.  Aggressively confronting a judge at the trial is not a preferred tactic.    J

Agility has the capacity to continue to bring in income for ASCA and we are trying to find solutions that will offer trialing opportunities for ASCA members everywhere. The concept of allowing outside parties to become Licensed to host agility trials has been discussed again.  The idea was developed as a solution to offer ASCA agility in areas where affiliates dont want to host a trial and/or wont allow another affiliate to host a trial.

We have two new members to welcome to the committee.  We would like to thank Annelise Allan and Krystal Emery for joining us to help make the ASCA Agility program successful.

Sincerely,

Susan Graham

On behalf of the Agility Committee
