This report details the day to day activities of the ASCA Board of Directors and includes issues brought before the ASCA Board and communications done by mail, fax, e-mail and/or phone.

98:22 BYLAW COMMITTEE - Emergency Motion 

In keeping with our procedure could you please send out the following emergency motion. The voting deadline should be 24 hours after you fax a copy to all board members. This should be 5:00 p.m. your time tomorrow.

This motion is made, in accordance with our (Board) procedures and hopefully, if passed, in time to send a copy to the bylaw committee.

Motion is made by Jerry Aufox and seconded by Kathy Warren to send and publish the attached comment to the Bylaw Committee's report in the Aussie Times. The comment should be positioned immediately next to the committee's report. If there is time the comment shall also be sent to the committee.

Board voting: Approve:  DeChant, Davenport, Aufox, Gray & Warren. Disapprove:  Trumbull-Clark, Toft, & Berryessa. Non-Voting:  Adolphson. Emergency motion is approved.

 

98:05 CONFORMATION COMMITTEE - Provisional Judge req. 

Motion by Davenport, Liaison to the Conformation Committee.

I move to accept the following recommendation by the Conformation Committee. Chris

Under PROVISIONAL JUDGE REQUIREMENTS:

Change the requirements for becoming a Provisional Breeder Judge from the current-

"Must have judged non-regular classes with a minimum of ten (10) entries each at three (3) ASCA Sanctioned Conformation events (not handling classes),"

to the following:

"Must have judged non-regular classes at three (3) or more ASCA Sanctioned Conformation events (not handling classes) until a minimum of thirty (30) entries total is accrued.  At least one of these events must include an entry of ten or more." Effective Date: June 1st, 2002.

98:15 OBEDIENCE COMMITTEE - Ch. 1, Sec. 22. MOTION TO TABLE. 

Motion to table by Aufox, seconded by Warren.

I would request that this motion (below) be tabled until the April meeting. We are getting a number of requests and questions about limiting entries or giving preferential treatment on entries that the entire issue needs to be discussed at our April meeting. I am putting this issue on the agenda.

Approve:  Davenport, Aufox, Gray, Warren & DeChant. Disapprove:  Trumbull-Clark, Toft & Berryessa. Non-Voting:  Adolphson.  Motion to table is approved.

 

98:15 OBEDIENCE COMMITTEE - Ch. 1, Sec. 22.

I move to accept the following Obedience Committee recommendation.-Kyle Trumbull-Clark, Liaison to the Obedience Committee
Motion by Evans, seconded Burlingame
The Obedience Committee would like to recommend to the Board of Directors, the following motion, effective as soon as possible.  Replace Chapter 1, Section 22, Limitation of Entries first sentence with the below sentence.

" If a club anticipates an entry in excess of its facilities for a Specialty or Sanctioned Obedience Trial, it may limit entries in any or all classes, but Nonregular class entries shall not exceed 25% of the total limited entry. "
Approved : Evans, Burlingame, Willems, Hamelin, Bohren, White, Case, Link, Not voting: Swatko, Mann, Cyboron.

Comments: This was to assist clubs to maintain some of the subnovice exhibitors in particular, when they only have a limited time or facility for their show. Quite a few clubs have contacted us requesting this.
