The ASCA Board of Directors is considering a proposal for ASCA to run the National Specialty, and they would appreciate your feedback on this idea. If you have other ideas on this topic, the Board would like to hear those, too.
Currently, Affiliate Clubs or Consortiums of Affiliate Clubs put in bids to host Nationals at one of four rotating sites. For example, the 2019 Nationals will be held in Bakersfield, California, hosted by Central Valley ASC, and the 2020 Nationals will be held in Conyers, Georgia, hosted by the Georgia Consortium, made up of five Affiliate Clubs. Under the current system, these Affiliates host the Nationals, and they take financial responsibility for the Nationals, bearing the cost in the case of a loss, and taking the profits if the event is successful.
The current proposal would change this so that ASCA would run Nationals with a committee of volunteers, and all profits would go to ASCA. Affiliates could still play a part by hosting pre-shows and pre-trials. Please look over the attached proposal for more details, and let the Board know your opinion of this proposal. This is the first draft and will need continued work if the membership likes this idea, so please share your thoughts. Please send your feedback to the Board by emailing the Executive Secretary at [email protected] by December 15. Thank you! The Board hopes to hear from you.
